Grange Resources Tasmania is on the lookout for a Purchasing Officer to join our operation in Burnie.
This role provides a high level of support to the Purchasing Manager and plays a key role in purchasing goods and inventory management. The successful candidate will work closely with our site teams, providing support and ensuring procurement functions are attended to promptly.
Day to day
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Coordinating purchasing requirements, including assisting in approving orders, raising new orders and following up with suppliers.
- Assisting operational personnel with purchasing matters, including support services for quotations, tendering, and negotiating pricing arrangements for inventory items and supply-related projects.
- Analysing data to identify opportunities and to develop commercial strategies with the support of the team
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with the suppliers to ensure critical items are secured in the most cost-effective and efficient manner.
- Planning and implementing supply chain optimization projects and assisting in carrying out tender evaluations, inventory management assessments and freight analysis.
Who you are
To be successful in this role you have:
- Prior experience in mining equipment procurement, maintenance or operations
- Demonstrated experience in a supply chain or warehousing environment
- Strong computer skills, specifically using Word, Excel and Stores Module
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to establish and maintain effective communication channels
- Effective time management and interpersonal skills
- A current full driver's licence
