Grange Resources Tasmania is on the lookout for a Project and Refractory Coordinator to join our operation in Port Latta.
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Refractory specialist to join our Operations Team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the repair and maintenance actions for the furnace refractory and coordination of all refractory repair-related project work at our Port Latta Operations.
Day to day
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Coordinate and supervise engineering project activities to ensure all planned project works are completed as per the schedule, per site specifications and in a safe, environmentally friendly and cost-effective manner.
- Ensure all relevant documentation, drawings, engineering procedures, and safety systems are well documented and follow a formal system of control.
- Be responsible for any furnace refractory repair work to be completed.
- Interface with 3rd party refractory specialists to facilitate their input into repair works where applicable.
- Quality control of any installation of refractory or other project work completed.
- Where required, assist operations teams with technical support to solve challenging operational problems.
- Applying change management processes and developing risk assessments for work to be completed as required.
- Engaging and communicating with stakeholders during the execution of work.
- Monitoring of and reporting on schedule-, quality- and cost performance.
Who you are
To be successful in this role you have:
- A qualified Engineering Trade background with proven experience in an industrial or mining industry
- Project execution experience, including experience with risk assessment and the application of change management, preferably in a brownfield manufacturing environment.

- Demonstrable experience with Project Management Software (MS Project) and Design drawing software (AutoCAD, Inventor) would be advantageous.
- Strong leadership skills and the capability to support a multidisciplinary team to achieve planned outcomes.
- Experience managing the commercial components of projects from initiation to completion.
- Strong safety orientation.

Port Latta
The Port Latta pellet plant and ship loading facility, located 70kms north-west of Burnie, is wholly owned and operated by Grange Resources. It produces over 2.2 million tonnes of premium quality iron ore product annually.
The Port Latta worksite is only an hours drive away from the vibrant coastal towns of north-west Tasmania, which offers a fantastic regional lifestyle and is only an hour’s flight from Melbourne with regular services from airports at Burnie, Devonport and Launceston.
