Grange Resources Tasmania is on the lookout for a Commercial Business Partner to join our operation in Burnie.
This role plays a critical role in developing and managing commercial functions and key relationships for all major contracts worth over $100 million.
You will leverage your strong commercial acumen to ensure successful negotiation, execution and management of contracts while mitigating risks and maximising value for the company.
This is an excellent opportunity to work with other technical departments and cross-functional teams to drive improvements.
Day to day
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Lead the development, negotiation and administration of contracts with suppliers, vendors and other stakeholders
- Provide strategic guidance and support in contract management, including contract review, risk assessment and compliance monitoring
- Assist with development of policies and procedures around Contract Management, Supplier Management, Tendering Process, Procurement Practices, Contractor requirements
- Identify opportunities for cost optimisation, value enhancement and process improvement within the commercial function
- Assist with the development of commercial functions and processes for all major tenders
- Assist with the management of key business risk exposures, including insurance, energy, supply chain and all other commercial risks
Who you are
To be successful in this role you have:
- Bachelor's degree qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g., Business, Economics, Finance/Accounting or Law)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar position
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex contracts and commercial agreements
- In-depth understanding of contract law, commercial terms and risk management principles
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse stakeholder groups
- Strong analytical skills and financial acumen, with the ability to evaluate contract terms, assess financial implications and drive value optimisation
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite programs, including advanced user of Microsoft Excel
- Experience with PowerBI will be advantageous
- Current full manual driver's license

Grange holds long term supply contracts for one million tonnes of its annual production and offers the balance of its production to market via a spot sales tendering/contracting process.

Burnie Office is the Registered Head Office for the Grange organisation. Based in the Burnie central business district it is home to various business functions including Finance, IT, HR, and Environment.
