Grange Resources Tasmania is on the lookout for a Project Engineer to join our operation in Port Latta.
As a Project Engineer, you will be a crucial part of our Engineering Team, driving the design and management of projects at our Port Latta Operations. Reporting to the Engineering Projects Superintendent, you will ensure the seamless execution of Engineering solutions for capital and maintenance projects.
Roster: 5 days on 2 days off, 4 days on 3 days off

Day to day
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Innovative Design Solutions: Provide technical input to the design of Engineering solutions, ensuring efficiency and innovation.
- Project Management: Utilise your project management and engineering skills to deliver projects on time and within budget, adhering to Grange's Safety Environment Management Systems and Australian standards.
- Change and Risk Management: Lead change management processes and conduct thorough risk assessments to mitigate potential issues.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Effectively engage and coordinate with operations, maintenance teams, and contractors to ensure smooth project execution.
- Progress Monitoring: Maintain oversight of project progress, ensuring transparency and timely reporting.
Who you are
To be successful in this role you have:
- Tertiary qualification in Mechanical/Structural Engineering discipline.
- Excellent Project Management skills, including Risk and Change Management
- Demonstrable experience with Project Management Software (MS Project) and Design drawing software (AutoCAD, Inventor).
- Project execution track record with work experience in a brownfields manufacturing environment
- Proven history of structural project work and a working understanding of structural engineering standards and practises..
- Motivated self-starter with leadership skills, good communication skills and the demonstrated ability to support a multidisciplinary team to achieve planned outcomes.
- Experience managing the commercial components of Project Management
- Strong safety orientation
Who we are
We're Grange Resources, Australia's oldest and most experienced magnetite producer - combining both mining and pellet production expertise. Based in northwest Tasmania, we own and operate Australia's largest integrated iron ore mining and pellet production business.
Grange holds long term supply contracts for one million tonnes of its annual production and offers the balance of its production to market via a spot sales tendering/contracting process.
Port Latta
The Port Latta pellet plant and ship loading facility, located 70kms north-west of Burnie, is wholly owned and operated by Grange Resources. It produces over 2.2 million tonnes of premium quality iron ore product annually.
The Port Latta worksite is only an hours drive away from the vibrant coastal towns of north-west Tasmania, which offers a fantastic regional lifestyle and is only an hour’s flight from Melbourne with regular services from airports at Burnie, Devonport and Launceston.
