Grange Resources Tasmania is on the lookout for a Engineering Project Superintendent to join our operation in Port Latta.
As an Engineering Project Superintendent you provide Engineering Management at Grange Resources sites, including protection of its assets by ensuring that costs identified both in Operations & Capital Expenditure are adequately utilised and controlled to ensure maximum asset protection to meet life of mine requirements.
Day to day
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Ensure personnel under positions control are actively participating in both sites engineering developments to maintain a flexibility of information sharing & knowledge
- Develop in conjunction with the Pellet Plant & QPI Management , an annual & LOM Capital Budgets for Pipeline, Pellet plant & Ship loading facility
- Ensure that Contractors, visitors, and other external agents comply with Grange Management System (GMS) and Policies and Procedures
- Promote a fully engaged workplace environment, where everyone manages the business, and by doing so ensures that all relevant internal and external information is communicated to the employees at all levels
- Promote development and assist in implementation of all training needs for employees
- Attend/assist and promote the requirement for HAZOP/Hazard ID studies etc, on new equipment installations and changes/modifications to existing equipment, processes, and work practices
- Liaise with Consultative Committee/s & Culture Working Groups when required
Who you are
To be successful in this role you have:
- Familiarity with Project Control Software & Design Drawing AutoCAD Software
- Exposure to Stock/warehousing/inventory control and maintenance/accounting control packages such as AX, MIMS, Mainpac, SAPS, etc
- A basic understanding of Australian Standards and Regulatory requirements
- Ability to effectively work with and Manage External Contractors & Consultants
- Current Driver’s License
- Strong Ability to work effectively and efficiently to meet whatever timeframes are required
- High level of self-motivation, flexibility, compassion, a team player, but able to work under minimal management control, while meeting planned company objectives
- Strong belief in maximising profits for the shareholders by actively promoting company policies and ensuring strict controls of Capital Expenditure and other costs associated with the positions control
- Strong awareness for Safety & Environmental requirements, the ability to think laterally for continuous improvement and protection of the assets and the employee’s welfare
- Trade qualifications in a relevant trade or Engineering discipline: with a view to furthering education via company support
- Minimum 10 years, experience in a similar mining/mineral processing/heavy industrial environment

Grange holds long term supply contracts for one million tonnes of its annual production and offers the balance of its production to market via a spot sales tendering/contracting process.
Port Latta
The Port Latta pellet plant and ship loading facility, located 70kms north-west of Burnie, is wholly owned and operated by Grange Resources. It produces over 2.2 million tonnes of premium quality iron ore product annually.
The Port Latta worksite is only an hours drive away from the vibrant coastal towns of north-west Tasmania, which offers a fantastic regional lifestyle and is only an hour’s flight from Melbourne with regular services from airports at Burnie, Devonport and Launceston.
