Grange Resources Tasmania is on the lookout for a Financial Accountant to join our operation in Savage River.
An outstanding opportunity has become available for a Financial Accountant to provide accounting support within our financial team at our Burnie office.
Day to day
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Prepare purchase requisitions, general ledger journals, and general ledger reconciliations
- Maintain the fixed asset register, ensuring timely capitalisation and disposal of assets and accurate depreciation and asset classification.
- Prepare, review and lodge monthly BAS returns and assist with preparation of annual FBT returns
- Assist in in preparing income tax return workpapers and calculations.
- Work collaboratively across the Finance team and broader business to provide timely information for monthly reporting, quarterly and annual reporting
- Support half-year and year-end reporting and audit deliverables, including drafting notes to the financial statements and Audit Committee papers
- Contribute to budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Contribute to continuous improvements initiatives across financial reporting and accounting processes.
Who you are
To be successful in this role you have:
- Full Australian working rights
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Financial Accountant or similar role with a high level of interpersonal skills.
- CA or CPA qualified (or working towards)
- Strong understanding of accounting standards and tax compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in the use of accounting software, spreadsheets, and financial reporting tools
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage across all levels of the business.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach to problem solving and continuous improvement
Who we are
We're Grange Resources, Australia's oldest and most experienced magnetite producer - combining both mining and pellet production expertise. Based in northwest Tasmania, we own and operate Australia's largest integrated iron ore mining and pellet production business.
Grange holds long term supply contracts for one million tonnes of its annual production and offers the balance of its production to market via a spot sales tendering/contracting process.
Savage River
The Savage River magnetite iron ore mine is a long-life mining asset where ore is mined and processed before it is transported by pipeline to Grange's pellet plant and ship loading facility at Port Latta.
The Savage River worksite is only an hour and half drive away from the vibrant coastal towns of north-west Tasmania, which offers a fantastic regional lifestyle and is only an hour’s flight from Melbourne with regular services from airports at Burnie, Devonport and Launceston.
